For more than a thousand years, the red feather has been used as a reward for special acts. England’s Black Prince, during the Crusades, awarded it for unusual acts of valor or chivalry. American Indians awarded red dyed eagle feathers to their most fearless braves, and it is said that Robin Hood awarded a red feather to his men for acts of exceptional goodness.
Following in tradition, United Way of Madison County offers our leadership givers, those who contribute $1,000 or more, membership to our Feather Society. Members of the Feather Society not only provide important funds for our partner programs, but are inspiration to others. They truly lead by example.

The United Way of Madison County’s Feather Society recognizes individuals providing annual support at levels of $1,000 to $9,999:

Platinum Level: $5,000 - $9,999
Gold Level: $3,500 - $4,999
Silver Level: $2,000 - $3,499
Red Level: $1,000 - $1,999

Those investors who support United Way of Madison County above $10,000 are offered membership to the Toqueville Society
